BEE Award Winner Recognized at McKenzie Health – Kayla Botteicher, CNA
Watford City—Kayla Botteicher, CNA at the Good Shepherd Home was awarded the BEE
Award – Being Excellent Every Day, on December 3rd. The award is offered to any professional who is not a nurse, and nominations can be submitted from patients, family, community members, or staff. It is provided in conjunction with the DAISY Award for nurses. Seventy-nine (79) nominations were received for this selection cycle. BEE and DAISY Award recognition is celebrated twice a year – May and December.
Kayla is originally from Powers Lake, ND, and has worked in healthcare for 9 years, 4 years in long term care and 5 years in home care/hospice. Currently, she is enrolled in the CMA course to further her education. When she is not working or studying, she is usually on the road to see her son’s sports games, with family, or at home cooking and watching football.
The nomination submitted about Kayla read: “Kayla started here in April of this year and has continued to grow and flourish with us. She advocates for her residents, makes them feel special, loves them, and truly treats each one like they are her grandparents. Kayla’s love for her residents shines each day. She is always willing to jump in and help whenever, wherever. Kayla treats each resident fairly and does not show any favoritism, although I bet, she does have her favorites! She comes to work, smiles even when things are not going well, and is another excellent asset to the Good Shepherd Home. Kayla has been juggling her home life, work life, and class life all at once (she is taking the CMA class).”
Tami Peterson, Director of Nursing at the Good Shepherd Home, said, “Kayla is reliable and dependable; she is dedicated to her role, the residents, and her teammates. I appreciate her personal effort to go above and beyond as she is a blessing to have on board.”
Pete Edis, CEO of McKenzie Health, added, “One of the many highlights of being CEO is having the opportunity to recognize our dedicated and talented employees. Kayla was nominated and selected by her peers for the BEE Award, which makes the honor that much more special. Congratulations to Kayla for her outstanding contributions to the Good Shepherd Home and most importantly, to the residents that depend on rural healthcare.”
