Robyn Gust, MS, ATC
Sports Medicine
Robyn Gust has cared for athletes of all ages and all levels, from grade school to the pros. Since moving back to North Dakota, the primary focus has been on high school and collegiate athletics.
There are very few sports that she hasn’t worked on, including some very atypical ones for our area, including lacrosse, rugby, and ultimate fighting. The primary athletes Robyn has been working with for the past 20+ years have been high school sports and collegiate hockey at Minot State University.
The Men’s Hockey team was healthy on an top of their game to claim the ACHA Division 1 National Championship! On the Olympic level, Robyn was the athletic trainer for the gold medal-winning USA deaf women’s soccer team, women’s basketball team, and the silver and bronze winners in track and field, beach volleyball, men’s and women’s volleyball.
Other areas of the Sports Medicine field that she is passionate about include emergency planning and injury prevention programming. As a part of the Ward County Local Emergency Response team, Robyn has worked along side the different levels of EMS to improve interagency collaboration for the most efficient and best care for patients. This also included the development of mass casualty planning for athletic environments.
On the injury prevention side, Robyn developed an injury prevention type that directly addresses the weaknesses athletic trainers may see in athletes of different ages and sports. She is most proud of the hockey and volleyball-specific injury prevention programs.
