NOMINATE YOUR NURSE
Say “Thank You” with a Nomination
We take great pride in meeting the needs of our community’s health, and we’re implementing the DAISY Award program for our nurses to be honored with the much-deserved recognition they’ve earned.
Help us celebrate the compassion and skill of our extraordinary nurses.
We are proud to partner with The DAISY Foundation to honor the compassionate care throughout the year. This program was started in 1999 by a family that received incredible kindness and compassion toward their loved one by the nurses who cared for Patrick. He was diagnosed with an autoimmune disease which took his life.
The family came up with DAISY which stands for Diseases Attacking the Immune System, and they developed it to thank the nurses for his care. This award expresses gratitude toward nurses, recognizing them for the extraordinary and compassionate care they provide to patients and their families.
Any licensed nurse that provides care at our clinics, hospital, and long-term care facilities is eligible to receive this award.
McKenzie Health will present the Daisy Award twice a year – once during Hospital Week and once during the Annual Meeting.

Nurses may be nominated by patients, families, and colleagues.
The award recipient is chosen by a committee at McKenzie Health to receive The DAISY Award. Awards are presented throughout the year at celebrations attended by the Honoree’s colleagues, patients, and visitors.
Each Honoree receives a certificate commending her or him as an “Extraordinary Nurse.” The certificate reads: “In deep appreciation of all you do, who you are, and the incredibly meaningful difference you make in the lives of so many people.”
Honorees also receive a DAISY Award pin and a beautiful and meaningful sculpture called A Healer’s Touch, hand-carved by artists of the Shona Tribe in Zimbabwe.
